What is TRE®
Have you ever had that moment after you almost got into a car accident, were scared, or something upset you and you felt your body slightly shaking after it was over? That is your nervous system trying to release the energy (chemicals and hormones) left over from that quick burst of fight or flight that you didn't use (completing the stress cycle) or what most people know it as...the adrenaline dump. We are only meant to be there for short periods of time to get through the danger our nervous system has perceived. If you are in an environment where you can't let that happen, don't have any idea what/why it's happening and it freaks you out or, like most of us, if people are around you don't want to look weird or scared or weak, we stop it and it doesn't get to be released. So, what happens then? Repeated exposure to stressors and/or trauma (could be one big event or accumulation of many smaller events) builds up in our body when we don't release it and our body and nervous system can enter into a chronic state of fight/flight, freeze/collapse or sometimes it goes between both. This leads to a dysregulated nervous system which can lead to issues with sleep, anxiety, depression, difficulty regulating our emotions, feeling like you can't fully relax, PTSD. It also can lead to chronic pain, tension patterns held in the body, digestive issues and list goes on.

First...this practice is not as intimidating and/or aggressive as the name may lead you to think!! TRE® is a series of easily accessible exercises, for any body or age, that gently fatigue your lower body, therefore allowing your nervous system to start the inborn tremoring mechanism in your body to help release the stress, tension and/or trauma that is being held. Our bodies know how to heal themselves and want to, we usually just have our "better" plans for them. Another great thing about this practice is that it is completely self-regulatory, meaning that it's about listening to your body, going at your pace and taking breaks if needed. This practice is not about "pushing through" like most of us like to do, when healing your nervous system and body-less is more. We do our best and sustainable healing in slowness.

TRE® is meant to be a practice you can take home with you and do in your life to help with day-to-day stress. If you would like to make a home practice, I recommend a minimum of three sessions with me so that you are comfortable with the exercises. This can be discussed in further detail after the first session.

60-minute Refresher/feeling stuck session-$60 (If you feel like your tremors are not progressing, we'll go through a session with tips and tricks)

For sessions, please dress in comfortable clothes you can move around in.
